Patient's question:
BornDoctor's answer:
Asymptomatic individuals do not require treatment. If there is infection and pus formation, anti-infection treatment such as antibiotics should be administered, or the abscess should be incised and drained, with local dressing changes. After the infection is controlled and the local area has healed, the fistula resection can be performed. A small amount of methylene blue should be injected into the fistula before surgery, and a probe should be inserted into the lumen as a guide. Then, the entire fistula or its branches should be completely excised. If residual fistula tissue remains and infection recurs, subsequent surgery becomes very difficult.
