Features: China's decades-long planned economy system has led to a situation where people cannot fully utilize their talents, resulting in a lack of creativity throughout the nation. The most direct reflection of this lack of national creativity is evident in the construction industry, characterized by monotonous and impoverished architectural styles, with countless identical buildings polluting the landscape. In the past, residential area planning and housing design often suffered from low construction costs per square meter, high rates of repetitive use, and difficulty in innovating designs. This made it hard to attract top design talent to fully commit to their work, and designers were often constrained by conditions, feeling powerless to experiment with innovative projects. However, with the development of the economy and the enhancement of national strength, as well as the increasing demands for material and spiritual life, the expectations for residential construction have grown. The highly competitive commercial housing market has provided an opportunity for the construction industry to flourish in residential area planning and design. Particularly in cities like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Beijing, and Shanghai, the residential design and area planning levels of some outstanding housing projects have caught up with those of developed countries. It is hoped that the publication of this book can serve as a summary of the century's housing, not only providing professional references for real estate developers, architects, and environmental designers but also bringing joy to a broad readership in appreciating beautiful homes.
