Hip joint is bilateral type IIa.

Patient's question:

When the child was a month old, the doctor at the hospital during the follow-up examination said that the child's buttocks were of uneven size and the leg creases were asymmetrical, recommending an ultrasound. The examination revealed that the hip joints were of bilateral type IIa.

Doctor's answer:

Human development begins with the presence of positive support reflexes in the neonatal period, allowing the baby to stand. After this, they no longer stand until they are around ten months old. At this age, they may start to enjoy standing on their toes, which could be normal or possibly indicate increased muscle tone.
It is recommended not to let the baby stand before they are ten months old because their bones are still very flexible and not strong enough to support their body. Standing too much at this stage may lead to leg deformities.
