Features: From October 16 to 19, 2001, the 7th Philosophy and Religion Symposium between China and the United States was held at Shandong University, coinciding with the university's centennial anniversary. Eighteen scholars from the United States, Hong Kong, and mainland China, along with three graduate students, gathered at the Shaw College of Science and Technology to engage in serious and lively discussions on the theme "Religious Dialogue: China and the West." Thanks to the concerted efforts of the participating scholars and the strong support of Shandong University, the conference was a resounding success, leading to the publication of this collection of conference papers. At the dawn of the new century, against the backdrop of globalization, conducting religious comparison and dialogue allows the traditional Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism of China to meet, collide, dialogue, learn from, absorb, and draw inspiration from the Jewish-Christian tradition of the West on a new level, holding significant theoretical meaning and practical value. This book includes 18 papers by scholars from China and abroad, which, within the context of globalization, engage in religious comparison and dialogue, enabling the traditional Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism of China to meet and dialogue with the Jewish-Christian tradition of the West on a new level, fostering mutual learning and inspiration. These papers deepen cultural and interethnic understanding and integration, demonstrating strong theoretical significance and practical value.
