Features: The history of the ancient Israelite nation is an important component of "Judaic Studies" research and also a field rarely explored in domestic historiography. This book is a specialized study on the history of ancient Israel, covering a time span from the origin of the Israelite nation around the 18th century BCE to the completion of the canonization process of the Hebrew Bible around the late 1st century CE to the early 2nd century CE. From the 18th century BCE to the 4th century BCE, the cultural classics of the Israelite nation, the Tanakh, were the most important historical documents. Therefore, our research should and must begin with the analysis of these documents. The exploration of historical documents aims to correctly understand the developmental process of this nation's history and to grasp its reflections on its own historical destiny. Thus, this book naturally revolves around the above three questions and is divided into an introduction and three parts: Upper, Middle, and Lower. This book is a specialized study on the history of ancient Israel, covering a time span from the origin of the Israelite nation around the 18th century BCE to the completion of the canonization process of the Hebrew Bible around the late 1st century CE to the early 2nd century CE. The research in this book involves three interrelated aspects: the examination of historical documents, the basic framework of the ancient history of the Israelite nation during the Tanakh era, and the historical concepts of the ancient Israelite nation. Based on a comprehensive and detailed absorption and summary of domestic and international research achievements, this book employs multidisciplinary research methods such as history, archaeology, linguistics, theology, and ethnology to propose its own important perspectives. The author's efforts undoubtedly contribute to the further development of the relatively weak research on ancient Israelite history and historiography in China's historiography.
