Features: The Snow is a long novel by the author that depicts romantic love between men and women using romanticist techniques. It was written in the 1970s. The story unfolds around two main threads: one is the love between Chiyoko Asami and Hiroshi Sakai, and the other is the entanglement of Yasushi Kudo with several women. Chiyoko Asami's husband, Yasushi Kudo, was once a favorite of the era and an employee of a top company, but he was a timid man who never dared to express his personal opinions in front of others. He was deeply disillusioned with the modern, materialistic society and wanted to withdraw from it, becoming a recluse, seeking escape through the flesh of women. He first became involved with the sensual Chizuko Tozaka, then with Aiko Fuji and Mrs. Hibiki, and eventually lost his sense of purpose, falling into confusion. After Chiyoko Asami's husband ran away with his mistress, she returned to her parents' home with her son. In her friend's antique shop, Chiyoko met Hiroshi Sakai and fell deeply in love with him at first sight. Sakai found Chiyoko beautiful, adorable, and living a dull life. He devoted himself wholeheartedly to cherishing Chiyoko, allowing their love to transcend and elevate itself to a realm full of poetic beauty, and also giving Chiyoko a happiness she had never experienced before. However, love and law cannot coexist, and Sakai's wife extinguished their romance with a soft noose.
