1-year-old infant's penis hidden inside

Patient's question:

Last August, when my child was born, it was already like this.

Doctor's answer:

Hello, cryptorchidism means the testicle cannot descend into the scrotum. The testicle enters the scrotum when the body temperature is high, and it can retract when the temperature is low but remains within the scrotum, just closer to the inguinal region. If the testicle is not present either in the inguinal region or within the scrotum, it is considered "cryptorchidism." In some children, the testicle may often be found under the skin, which is also a form of incomplete "cryptorchidism." It is possible to gently pull it downward regularly to bring it into the scrotum. Over time, the ligaments will loosen, and the testicle will no longer retract. If it cannot be kept basically within the scrotum, surgery is required.
