They depict various people and events around them from their own perspectives. Sincerely hope that friends from all walks of life will help and support the publication of this series of books. May this series of books firmly record the entrepreneurial and life journey of Chinese people abroad, day by day, and their relentless efforts, as well as the footsteps of the Chinese nation as it moves toward the world. Since the 1990s, the author worked as a documentary director and producer in France. The faces of illegal immigrants he often saw in the Chinatown of Paris—Belleville—captured his attention. His fluent French and heroic-like personality made him close friends with the residents of Belleville. Thus, he became a companion for pregnant women, a translator for police stations and court summons, an interpreter of the amnesty law, and the only person who did not charge money for helping illegal immigrants. He himself was almost arrested and mistaken for an illegal immigrant. This led to the creation of the world's only documentary about Chinese illegal immigrants working in overseas black clothing factories, which won a television documentary award in France. This also led to the world's only book, Going to Paris as a Chinese Overseas Chinese. With over a decade of interview material accumulated and repeatedly refined, combined with an international background and analysis of French politics, economy, society, and culture, the book features a bizarre storyline and a darkly humorous writing style, making it serve multiple functions: historical record, in-depth academic research, and a compelling read for bestsellers.
