Features: Zhang Junshi Qing is currently a member of the Dongfang Architecture Research Laboratory at Southeast University. He studied in Japan for a year and a half at Aichi Industrial University in 1988, under the guidance of the renowned Japanese authority on ancient architecture, Professor Kiyoshi Asano. During his time in Japan, he visited numerous famous historical and architectural sites, read extensively, and collected a wealth of materials to prepare for research on the cultural exchange of ancient architecture between China and Japan, including the study of Zuo Ting Ji. Upon returning to China in 1989, he continued his research on Northeast Asian architectural culture after completing his doctoral dissertation and obtaining his degree. However, it became increasingly difficult to fully realize his intentions. Through the translator's numerous annotations, readers can see the depth of his dedication. He made every effort to ensure the translation would be easily understood. While it cannot be said that this translation is perfect, there are certainly many areas where critics and readers can offer corrections. Nevertheless, I believe that at the very least, this translation is highly readable and well-received by Chinese audiences.
