Features: A Hollywood blockbuster is about to hit the screens, with Jim Carrey and Meryl Streep starring together. One storm follows another, as the three orphaned siblings engage in a poignant battle with Jim Carrey. No. 1 bestseller in The New York Times for childhood, a phenomenon that swept across Europe and America, topping the bestseller list for 448 weeks.
Content of the book: The Baudelaire orphans arrive at the doorstep of Vice Principal Nero. At this moment, they can't help but remember something their father told them a few months before he passed away. Back then, whenever their parents went out for events at night, the children would stay home alone. Violet and Klaus would play a few games of chess first, Sunny would tear old newspapers, and then they would all gather on the comfortable sofas in the North Reading Room to read. Little Sunny would look at picture books—before long, she would curl up on the sofa and fall asleep. When their parents came home, they would wake the children from their sleep, tell them about what happened that night, and then tuck them into bed.
One night, their parents went to a symphony concert, and the three children were at home as usual. But that day, before they could curl up on the sofas and fall asleep, their parents returned earlier than expected. Dad stood at the doorway of the reading room and said something they would never forget.
