Modern Western Economics (Macroeconomics) (Second Edition): Macroeconomics

Author: Song Chengxian
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 1997-11-01
Features: This book is titled Modern Western Economics. Here, the term "Western Economics" can be considered a shortened or alternative name for "bourgeois political economy," as distinguished from Marxist political economy. As for "Modern," it generally refers to the period from the 1930s of this century to the present. Therefore, this book could also be titled "Contemporary Bourgeois Political Economy," which includes the two major components of modern economics—microeconomics and macroeconomics. This book is designed to meet teaching needs and is essentially a textbook compiled from some popular Western works of similar or identical titles. After World War II, Western economics gradually divided political economy (theoretical economics) into two parts: microeconomics and macroeconomics. Macroeconomics examines the economic operation of an entire society, as opposed to microeconomics, which focuses on the behavior of individual economic entities. This book is the macroeconomic part of the Modern Western Economics published by our press, consisting of six parts and twenty-two chapters, including basic macroeconomic concepts and measurement, static equilibrium models of national income determination, monetary theory and monetary policy, post-Keynesian macroeconomics, dynamic economics, and international economics. The second edition, in addition to textual and scientific corrections throughout the book, has added content such as the golden rule. At the same time, hardcover versions of the microeconomics and macroeconomics parts will be published separately to meet the needs of readers at all levels.
