Romance of the Three Kingdoms: Jianghu Version 2

Author: Gao Yurong
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2004-05-01
Features: This book tells five parts: the alliance of the towns to fight Dong Zhuo, Wang Yun's plan to kill Dong Zhuo, Cao Cao's campaign to avenge his father, Liu Bei's rescue of Xuzhou, and Lü Bu's battle against Cao Cao. The author uses a romantic tone to portray the Chief Minister and Diaochan as a couple, which is indeed a rare interpretation of the original story. Only in this book do we suddenly realize how captivating Diaochan's beauty and sorrow truly are! In the section about Cao Cao avenging his father, the author depicts Cao Lao, Cao's mother, and Tao Prefect as being extremely absurdly lecherous under Zhang Kai's lustful motives. This corresponds to Cao Cao's brutal killing of Bo Shu's entire family in defeating Lü Bu, making one realize that karmic retribution is truly an eternal theme in Eastern legends!
