Ursodiol, also known as ursodeoxycholic acid capsules, is used to prevent and treat cholesterol stones and cholecystitis, cholangitis, biliary dyspepsia, jaundice, and other conditions caused by stones. It can also be used for acute and chronic hepatitis, hyperlipidemia, fat malabsorption caused by ileal lesions, and bile reflux gastritis. This product promotes the secretion of endogenous bile acids and reduces reabsorption; antagonizes the cytotoxic effects of hydrophobic bile acids, protecting hepatocyte membranes; dissolves cholesterol stones; and has immunomodulatory effects, inhibits apoptosis, anti-inflammatory effects, scavenges oxygen-free radicals and antioxidant effects, as well as antitumor and cholagogic effects.
