Acute onset, fever, scattered herpetic ulcers on the oral mucosa, maculopapular and herpetic lesions on the hands, feet, and buttocks, with inflammatory erythema around the ulcers and less fluid in the vesicles. May be accompanied by symptoms such as cough, runny nose, and poor appetite. Some cases may only present with rash or herpetic pharyngitis. Most recover within a week, with a good prognosis.
