Patient's question:
NoDoctor's answer:
Since the normal angle of ankle inversion is much larger than that of eversion, when an ankle sprain occurs, it is usually the foot that twists inward, with the injured area being the lateral malleolus. Many people first rub the painful area vigorously, then soak their feet in hot water to promote blood circulation and reduce swelling, and finally walk and move around while enduring the pain, in order to avoid "storing the sinews." However, practice has shown that this approach to treating a sprained ankle is not appropriate.
