Features: This is a unique literary work with exceptional readability, having been serialized in numerous newspapers and magazines across the country. Its strong (impact) in recent years is rare. The book offers a distinctive perspective, unfolding plots and introducing characters through the adventures and travels of the poet Zhang Wenzhi in the United States. It weaves together many fascinating and brilliant stories—reading it leaves one either laughing heartily, crying uncontrollably, striking the table in anger, or speechless in contemplation. America is like a vast stage of life. Competing for this stage are:
- A struggling small business owner, living hand-to-mouth yet dreaming of worldwide fame;
- A wealthy "red-capped tycoon" with immense fortune;
- A limping "celebrated scholar" who roams Europe and America with a cane, having swindled people everywhere;
- A stunning singer suspected of smuggling firearms, who has even (dazzled/intrigued) the President.
They all rush onto the stage, performing a series of lively and vibrant dramas of human life, much like the saying, "In chaos, one sings as the other exits, mistaking a foreign land for home." The protagonist, Zhang Wenzhi, is not only an actor in these dramas but also a hidden director and the sole audience. This shifting of roles provides readers with different perspectives for examining the characters. The magnificent foreign scenery, passionate romantic entanglements, harsh struggles for survival, and intense cultural conflicts give rise to a group of marginalized expatriates, showcasing the twisted and fragmented Chinese hearts.
The book also reveals for the first time the operations of Chinese companies in the United States and discloses two shortcuts to obtaining U.S. "green cards." The language of the book is filled with strong humor and irony, seamlessly blending with the comedic style of the story.
