Features: The "World Youth Classics Literature Series" selects outstanding literary works suitable for children to read. Renowned children's writers from various countries use concise, lively, and elegant language to depict a rich and colorful world for children. In this magical and enchanting fantasy kingdom, children learn about love, courage, integrity, honesty, diligence, and wisdom. This is a sincere gift from the world's outstanding writers to the children. Some stories in this book are clearly from other places and have been processed and embellished by a Sicilian. For example, "The Olive Branch" in the collection comes from a seventy-year-old seamstress, who told the story to her companions while sewing bedding exclusively for Sicilian residents during a long period of labor. The story is basically similar to the widely told European versions of "Cinderella" or "The Glass Slipper," but the imagination of this elderly woman is infused with Mediterranean characteristics. This makes the story more beautiful and more beloved by listeners. The ending of the story is also different from other versions. It does not focus on finding the glass slipper or include vulgarized revenge by the stepmother and stepsister, but instead ends with the father, who is a merchant, repenting for his business ethics, adding a touch of satirical humor.
