Features: Bu Shouru does not believe her father's world will collapse in just a dozen days. Gazing at the continuous scene of desolation from the Jiang'an West Pier to Guan Guan Road, Bu Shouru remains composed, unaffected. That desolation is pale, as a heavy snow covers the city and conceals all traces of the armed conflict. The sky is gray, like a dense, lifeless fog, casting a melancholic mood. Bu Shouru sits in the sedan chair, moving rhythmically with the creaking sound of the poles, advancing blankly, leaving her father's world behind bit by bit. As dusk approaches, the surroundings are quiet, with little noise from sedan chair carriers or the clamor of horns and drums. Only the trembling sound of her solitary chair, the breathing of the sedan chair carriers Ba Qingda and Qiu Sanye, and the crunch of their soles on the snow underfoot. The air is very cold, Ba Qingda and Qiu Sanye are constantly wiping their clear noses, their ponytails frosted with ice, and they lift the chair with their sleeves rolled up. Bu Shouru, however, feels no cold. Dressed in a thin green satin jacket and draped in a scarlet cloak, she sits on the chair with extreme dignity, her face as pale as the snow.
