Content of the Book: The story takes place during the American Civil War. A hydrogen balloon drifts high in the vast Pacific Ocean. But don't think it's someone seeking thrills—consider the terrifying storms of 1865, and you'll understand their current situation. The five people in the balloon are surrounded by thick fog, unable to determine their direction. Their only option is to desperately throw weapons, ammunition, and even food into the sea as the balloon descends. Another night passed in fear, and the storm gradually subsided, the fog slowly dissipating. Just as the poor people were about to breathe a sigh of relief, they shockingly discovered that due to the leakage of hydrogen, the hot air balloon was gradually deflating, changing from round to oval. Although they were all brave and clever people, they had nothing left to throw, not even a small coin. The deflated balloon slowly descended toward the boundless Pacific Ocean.
