This book aims to guide college and graduate students to observe and understand the structure of English vocabulary and phrases, pay attention to learning how to memorize them, enhance interest and confidence in memorizing English words, and learn to effectively utilize available time to learn, master, and apply English vocabulary and phrases. The book is divided into three parts: Part one focuses on explaining the mysteries of English word structure; the second part emphasizes analyzing strategies for memorizing English words; the third part stresses the importance of practicing word memorization in the context of sentences and short passages. Additionally, to promote observation, review, and memorization of English vocabulary and phrases, this book adopts the vocabulary list for the College English Teaching Syllabus (General Vocabulary) (July 2000), revised by the Working Group established by the National Advisory Committee on College Foreign Language Teaching, which requires mastery of the CET-4 and CET-6 vocabulary. These words are categorized and included in the appendices of the three parts. The purpose of this book is to help students expand their vocabulary, create conditions for preparing for the College English Test Band 4 and 6, and lay a foundation for learning and communicating in English to adapt to the development of today's society, economy, and science and technology.
