Features: History sometimes resembles a bizarre yet logical drama, making people sad, happy, worried, angry, restless, sigh in frustration, and immersed in it, they discover astonishing surprises amidst the fantastical and the melancholic. This books the joys and sorrows of emperors and generals, revealing the survival secrets in real history. Reading through the vast historical records and anecdotes, one often finds many astonishing people and events—some lost in the shadows of major historical events, others hidden in the complex narratives of turbulent times, or distorted by folk tales, or overlooked due to their dynasties not being considered legitimate. In recent years, theof "" films and TV shows that excessively distort history has made the truth of history obscure and even sometimes seems simple, mechanical, and unbelievable. The author has always been obsessed with history with a "delight in it" mindset, and a "devil in the details" habit of research, making him a "historical enthusiast." This book selects dozens of familiar yet unfamiliar figures from Chinese history, extracting their exquisite life fragments, and observes from angles often overlooked, focusing on the literary and entertaining aspects rather than "the history of people" to pay more attention to "people in history," especially focusing on those once incredibly vivid and individualistic individuals now dimmed by the dust of time. It shows the real picture of emperors and generals in their survival struggles. The author writes about many powerful emperors and generals of that time who were often ignored by later generations: Liang Ji, Empress Dowager Wen, Gao Huan, Gao Wei, Xiao Baojuan, Erzhu Rong, etc. Every person and story reads like a feast. With a fluent and lively writing style, the author allows readers to enjoy the joy of reading history and relive their simple appearances, expressions, and smiles, showcasing their unadorned, humanized, and yet dramatically fascinating side.
