Intraventricular hemorrhage, seeking treatment methods

Patient's question:

A 22-day-old male infant suddenly developed a fever. CT examination revealed intraventricular hemorrhage, accompanied by a low-grade fever of 37.2-37.9°C.

Doctor's answer:

While promptly treating primary and secondary injuries, perform ventricular drainage. Alternatively, after removing intracranial hematoma and crushed brain tissue, incise the ventricle to expel blood clots causing ventricular obstruction. Typically, small amounts of ventricular bleeding can be absorbed spontaneously, and even small blood clots can liquefy within about 10 days. Therefore, several lumbar puncture drainages of bloody cerebrospinal fluid can be sufficient to clear the cerebrospinal fluid.
