Features: Dunhuang is a shining pearl on the ancient Silk Road. The Han, Uyghur, Tuyuhun, and Tibetan peoples who lived there jointly created Dunhuang culture. Therefore, the cave art of Mogao Caves, as a symbol of Dunhuang studies, is a crystallization of their collective wisdom and also a product of cultural exchange between Eastern and Western religions. The development of Dunhuang studies requires both in-depth, high-quality academic research and popularization and promotion to let more people understand Dunhuang and appreciate its splendid and magnificent cultural heritage. The 21st century is not only a period of deep development in Dunhuang studies but also a period of widespread popularization. For this reason, the Nationalities Publishing House has collaborated with the Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences under the Ministry of Education—the Dunhuang Studies Research Institute of Lanzhou University—to launch a series of popular Dunhuang studies books, "Dunhuang Anecdotes and Writings."
