Features: This is truly a book that belongs to us. A beautiful love that fades away amidst the fragrance of gardenias. The pain of innocent youth, destined to be lost. A hazy yet warm embrace. We express love in our own way. We don’t seek eternity, nor are we content with fleeting moments of tenderness. If you hold my hand on the shaded path of the campus, I will feel happy. If you play a song called "Rainbow" for me before bed, I will feel sweet. If you give me a paper crane you folded by hand on the playground, I will feel romantic. Look, this is our love—it never dreams of vows or oaths, as long as you are by my side is enough. Happiness, just happiness. This is our A Wish Tree by the Lake.
Your, Mine, Our Reading Snippet: Love, Homeless
I met Shuilin at a campus dance. I went with a classmate. The noise was overwhelming, the dance filled with the urban elegance and clamor. I grew a little tired of the air. Often, I was alone. Then I gazed down at the vast expanse of time, flowing slowly through the gaps between my fingers. For the lonely, time means delay and aging. So I always wished it could move faster. Shuilin was a wild girl; at the dance, she danced nonstop, unrestrained. She wore a black T-shirt and jeans with rolled-up cuffs, with hair that was neither too short nor too long, dyed a faint coffee color. A strange feeling—seemed I could smell a hint of despair from her. She grew tired, sat on the sofa drinking cola, and then she noticed me. Not dancing? She asked, a little surprised.
