A three-year-old child has impetigo, what should be done?

Patient's question:

No

Doctor's answer:

Impetigo is a common superficial pyogenic skin disease, named for the yellowish fluid that oozes out when the blisters rupture, and is also known as weeping impetigo or bullous impetigo. This condition is contagious through contact. For intact blisters, apply 1% camphor or 10% sulfur calamine lotion externally several times a day. For blisters that have ruptured and formed eroded areas or crusts, first apply a wet dressing with 0.1% rivanol solution, followed by the use of 0.5% neomycin ointment or Bacitracin ointment, ciprofloxacin ointment, etc., externally.
