Features: For English, words are the foundation. Mastering the vocabulary required by the syllabus is essential. As the saying goes, "A towering structure begins with a humble foundation." To build your own English knowledge skyscraper, each word is an indispensable brick and mortar. However, traditional vocabulary memorization methods are dull and time-consuming, leading many students to give up halfway. Guided by the principle of "addressing the urgent needs and thoughts of candidates," the Double Doctor Graduate Entrance Exam English Research Team meticulously crafted this book, Vocabulary Through Model Test Questions. The structure of the book is as follows:
1. The book consists of 14 units, each corresponding to one year's worth of model test questions, arranged in the order of 2004–1991.
2. Each unit is divided into six parts (the sixth part for 2002–2004 is categorized vocabulary, while 1993–1991 is divided into four parts).
3. Each part includes core vocabulary, model test question review, and bonus features (sage advice, fun corner, and beautiful prose). An explanation and translation are provided after each year.
4. The core vocabulary section first presents the word's phonetic transcription and definition, followed by its usage, synonyms, antonyms, derivatives, detailed explanations, distinctions, related words, and categorization. Depending on the word, key points are selected for explanation. The detailed explanation focuses on interpreting core vocabulary within synonyms.
5. The word number corresponds to the superscript number in the text. If a word in the text is a derivative of a core word, its derivative is marked with a superscript number.
6. To facilitate candidates in planning their vocabulary review, the book is arranged in two parts per day. The first 11 words in each unit are reviewed over three days; the last three units contain simpler and fewer words, so four parts are covered each day, totaling three days.
7. After each unit, a review card is provided to help candidates record difficult words from the unit or their study experiences and insights.
8. At the beginning of the book, basic vocabulary is provided. Most of this vocabulary was learned by students in middle school. Please self-check your mastery of basic vocabulary. If there are still unfamiliar words, it is essential to master them as soon as possible.
