Features: This anthology begins with the pre-Qin period and ends before the May Fourth Movement, including poetry, ci poems, qu, fu, and prose. The compiler, rooted in the new era, pays attention not only to the diversity of themes and styles but also to the universality of the selected writers and works—namely, widely circulated works, as well as their representativeness, typicality, ideological significance, and artistic quality. Moreover, each writer is accompanied by a brief introduction to aid readers in understanding them. This anthology consists of 14 volumes. The poetry, ci poems, qu, and fu volumes all include insightful annotations; the prose volume features a bilingual (classical and modern Chinese) edition. The Poetry Hundred Anthology mainly collects important poems from the Book of Songs, the Han, Wei, Northern and Southern Dynasties, Tang, Song, Ming, and Qing dynasties, with a particularly strong focus on Tang poetry. The Ci Hundred Anthology primarily includes Song ci poems, supplemented by some Tang ci poems. The Fu Hundred Anthology includes famous fu from the Han and Wei dynasties onwards until the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. The Prose Hundred Anthology features selected works from the pre-Qin period to the Han and Tang, Song, Ming, and Qing dynasties, with the major works of the "Eight Great Masters of the Tang and Song" comprising a significant portion. Finally, the Qu Hundred Anthology includes works from the Yuan dynasty and later.
