Features: Around the 1st and 2nd centuries AD, a Roman named Phaedrus wrote the fable in Latin, which is the earliest written version of Aesop's Fables that we can see today. Although Phaedrus was merely a recorder compared to Aesop's Fables, when compiling the oral traditions, he also collected many other Greek fables and added many of his own ideas and creations. These animal fables have a tight structure, concise language, vivid imagery, and have influenced later fable writers such as La Fontaine of France, Lessing of Germany, and Krylov of Russia.
