You can buy medical alcohol and iodine at a pharmacy. First, use a cotton swab to apply iodine, then use alcohol to apply externally to de-iodize. Do this twice a day for disinfection, and the umbilical cord will heal quickly and fall off. When changing diapers or cleaning the baby, be careful not to get the umbilical cord wet.
