Features: The key to establishing a strong undergraduate program in information security lies in high-quality teaching materials. Due to various reasons, the history of undergraduate information security programs in China is relatively short, and they are still in their early stages. However, there are now many universities offering such programs in various forms, with a considerable number of students enrolled. The Information Security Center at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications is a specialized laboratory dedicated to teaching, research, and technology transfer in information security. The laboratory has produced a significant number of cryptography Ph.D. graduates and has established a comprehensive training system for postdoctoral researchers, Ph.D. students, master's students, and undergraduates in the fields of "information security" and "cryptography," having trained hundreds of information security graduate students. The prevention of computer viruses is a crucial aspect of information security. The fundamental principles of computer viruses and the basic principles and methods of their prevention are essential knowledge that all individuals concerned with information security must understand and master. This book provides a comprehensive and systematic introduction to these topics. Chapter 1 introduces computer viruses; Chapter 2 covers the basic DOS system knowledge related to computer viruses; Chapter 3 explains the principles of computer viruses; Chapters 4 to 6 analyze the principles and basic methods of computer virus prevention in three aspects: detection, removal, and prevention; and Chapter 7 provides a comprehensive introduction to some classic computer viruses, covering their basic structures, operational mechanisms, and detection, removal, or prevention methods. Each chapter is followed by exercises to reinforce the knowledge or appropriately supplement the content. This book can serve as a textbook for undergraduate students in information security, computer science, communication, and other related fields at universities, as well as a reference for individuals from various backgrounds who are interested in the prevention of computer viruses.
