Down syndrome screening 21-trisomy syndrome risk value 1/700

Patient's question:

Hello! My last menstrual period was around January 20th (I'm not very sure). On May 16th (based on January 20th), I had an ultrasound at the hospital for the triple screen, and there was no ultrasound before the triple screen to determine the exact size of the fetus. The triple screen result showed a risk of trisomy 21 at 1/700. Now the fetus has already started moving. Do I need to have an amniocentesis?

Doctor's answer:

Disease Analysis: Generally, a value higher than 1/270 is considered high-risk. This test result is relatively close to the low-risk level, so the probability of contraction is relatively small.
Recommendation: It is suggested that further tests may not be necessary. Pay attention to timely calcium supplementation after the second trimester of pregnancy.
