Can people with enteritis eat sesame paste?

Patient's question:

Why would the doctor say I can eat this sesame porridge and this cereal? I thought it's not recommended to eat high-fiber foods when you have gastroenteritis? Why can I still eat cereal? Can someone tell me if this is actually okay to eat?

Doctor's answer:

Cereal should be fine to eat. Sesame paste, soy milk, and milk are also okay. You can also have some congee or things with a milder taste. Avoid spicy and irritating foods, though.
