Features: Physics is a fundamental discipline. The term "fundamental" should have dual meanings here. On one hand, physical knowledge serves as the foundation for studying many modern scientific and technological fields; on the other hand, the training and enhancement of students' thinking, hands-on, and creative abilities during the physics learning process are also indispensable for studying other applied sciences and technical fields. To achieve outstanding results in physics competitions, a student must not only master a substantial amount of physical knowledge but also possess strong problem-solving skills and excellent psychological qualities. Therefore, the work of cultivating top physics students is essentially a form of quality-oriented education, which is highly beneficial for enhancing students' innovative capabilities.
The author has been involved in cultivating top physics students since 1980. Through more than two decades of exploration, they have developed a set of proven and effective methods for nurturing outstanding students, accumulating a wealth of firsthand materials. Over the past decade, numerous teachers across the country have shown remarkable success in coaching students for physics competitions. This time, the author has invited several highly influential teachers nationwide to pool their wisdom and collaboratively write this new series of physics competition preparation books. It is believed that these books will be of great help to our peers and a broad group of middle school students passionate about physics.
