What is the reason for a one-month-old baby having sweaty head?

Patient's question:

No

Doctor's answer:

It is normal for children to sweat while sleeping, as their sweat glands are more developed. Sweat secretion is controlled by the autonomic nervous system (vagus nerve). After falling asleep, the vagus nerve becomes excited, leading to increased sweating, usually more on the head and face. However, this will subside within one or two hours. If sweating persists after sleeping and is quite heavy, it could be a sign of a functional disorder of the autonomic nervous system, with some cases possibly being caused by calcium deficiency.
