Features: A must-read for business, a benchmark for entrepreneurs, the leading of the top ten Chinese merchant groups. A role model for merchants. The co-named documentary series was broadcast extensively on China Central Television (CCTV) and provincial and municipal television stations. CCTV Channel 2's "Economic Half an Hour" special program "Jin Merchants" aired during the 2004 Spring Festival, examining Jin merchants from multiple perspectives such as economy, politics, and culture, exploring their successes and failures. It avoids didactic methods and naturally achieves the dissemination of knowledge and national education, embodying the concept of "teaching through entertainment" and achieving significant social benefits. This television series is both an educational program, delivering the results of social science research to the general public in an accessible form, and a promotional piece, vividly introducing the history and culture of Shanxi to domestic and international audiences. The documentary "Jin Merchants" is not very long, consisting of only eight episodes. However, its creative concept and production spanned three years. The production team traveled over 10,000 kilometers, visiting Jin merchant heritage sites and residences, interviewing over 50 authoritative experts on Jin merchant studies from around the world, and collecting a wealth of previously undisclosed materials. It is currently the most successful television work in portraying the rise and fall, as well as the cultural and psychological structures of Jin merchants.
