The "Communicate in Chinese" textbook consists of 40 lessons (40 topics) in total, published as a set of four books. Each book contains ten lessons, with the last one being a review lesson. The teaching materials focus on spoken Chinese, with situational dialogues set through the characters' daily activities reflecting a certain language context. Students will find their interest grow as they gradually grasp the ability to communicate in Chinese. In order to assist beginners in gaining an innate understanding of Chinese dialogues and quickly acquiring communication skills, we made full use of the television medium to produce situational dialogues and provide pinyin, Chinese, and English subtitles on screen for new vocabulary and common expressions, so that what viewers see, they can learn, cultivating a language environment and leaving a lasting impression.

For each topic, situational dialogues, vocabulary, common expressions, cultural background knowledge, language points, annotations, and substitution exercises are provided. The aim is to integrate understanding and usage.
