Features: This set of dictionaries consists of three volumes: "Wall Street Financial Dictionary," "Investment Dictionary," and "Banking Dictionary." Each volume has a different focus, although there is some overlap. The compilation of this series is primarily based on the U.S. federal system and management system, supplemented by the Commonwealth system. Except for the regions and countries explicitly mentioned, all definitions follow the current standards of the United States and the United Kingdom. With economic development and China's entry into the WTO, the external manifestations and connotations of China's investment concept have undergone significant changes. After the transition from a planned economy to a market economy, China's investments have become more diverse, with securities, insurance, real estate, and other areas all serving as potential investment targets. At the same time, the highly financialized term "investment" is gradually becoming more accessible to the general public. The international concept of investment is also developing rapidly. Due to these major changes and cultural differences, there has been a lack of coordination in Sino-foreign cooperation and alignment with international standards in the field of investment, which has also hindered the integration of China's economy with the global market in certain aspects. Scholars who frequently travel between China and the U.S. have a deep understanding of this issue. Especially for some foreign terms that seem quite ordinary, they may be completely unfamiliar or misunderstood by domestic people. We compiled this book precisely to help bridge this gap or facilitate the understanding of certain concepts, while also providing readers with new financial terms and related terminology and their definitions. This dictionary is arranged in alphabetical order by English letters, covering over 4,500 terms. Each entry follows the internationally recognized meanings and provides detailed Chinese definitions that take into account China's current situation and cultural characteristics. This approach may deviate slightly from a literal translation of the original text, but we believe it is more easily understood by Chinese readers.
