Can people with bile reflux gastritis drink more water?

Patient's question:

I have bile reflux gastritis. Burping occurs when I drink water. I want to ask how to solve this problem. Isn't drinking water supposed to dilute stomach acid? Can it alleviate the condition to some extent?

Doctor's answer:

Analysis of the condition: Bile reflux gastritis is an inflammatory lesion caused by bile and other intestinal fluids discharged from the gallbladder into the duodenum, flowing back through the pylorus to the stomach, stimulating the gastric mucosa.
Suggestions:
Gastrokinetic drugs: These medications can increase gastrointestinal motility and inhibit bile reflux into the stomach. Commonly used drugs include: Domperidone, Mosapride.
Gastric mucosal protectants: Sucralfate, which can form a protective film by complexing with the mucin of the gastric mucosa, to protect the gastric mucosa from bile damage.
