Did I get an infection of toxoplasmosis by eating undercooked pig kidneys?

Patient's question:

At 20 weeks of pregnancy, I ate undercooked pork kidney, and when I bit into it, there was still blood inside. Although I vomited it out in time, I had already eaten a portion of it. Could this lead to an infection with Toxoplasma gondii? (I have previously been tested and confirmed not to have been infected with Toxoplasma gondii.) If I do get infected, how long will it take to detect it? Can it be treated with medication? Will it affect the fetus? I am extremely anxious and would appreciate it if the doctor could provide an answer.

Doctor's answer:

Analysis of the condition: Hello, Toxoplasma will die quickly at high temperatures. Suggestions: Even if the pig kidney you ate is not fully cooked, it will no longer have Toxoplasma. The possibility of your infection is very small. You don't need to worry about getting infected.
