Patient's question:
Main symptoms: Chromosome test required at Union Hospital need to make an appointment in advance? Onset time: Test results:Doctor's answer:
Chromosome aberration is a disease caused by congenital abnormalities in the number of chromosomes or (and) structural abnormalities. A normal fertilized egg is formed by the combination of a sperm and an egg, each containing a single chromosome set. Therefore, the somatic cells developed from the fertilized egg have two chromosome sets, one from each parent, namely 23 pairs of chromosomes, known as diploid (2n=46), with one pair being sex chromosomes: XY in males and XX in females. According to the size of each pair of chromosomes and the position of the centromere, the 23 pairs of chromosomes in human cells can be divided into 7 groups (A-G). Arranging all the chromosomes of a cell in a standard pairing for analysis and diagnosis is called karyotyping. Karyotyping involves a large amount of work and requires the examiner to have considerable experience.
