Is the kidney calcification severe?

Patient's question:

Last year, I went to the hospital for a physical examination. The abdominal color Doppler ultrasound detected calcifications in the right kidney. I would like to ask if this is a disease? Can it cause other lesions?

Doctor's answer:

No problem, it's a benign lesion. You can have a follow-up checkup regularly (about every six months). As long as it doesn't grow rapidly, there's no need to worry. It won't affect your kidney function. It's not a stone, so no medication is needed.
