Publishing Date: 1979-08-01
Features: This copybook is a comparative reference for various calligraphy styles, suitable for beginners to study and practice. The 2,000 commonly used characters included in the copybook were selected from the 1,500 commonly used character list published by the Ministry of Education of the Central People's Government in 1952, as well as frequently used single characters from newspapers, magazines, and other sources. Due to the limited number of characters, some commonly used characters will be included in a follow-up volume. This work is currently in progress and will be published in the near future. The copybook features regular script, clerical script, running script, cursive script, and seal script. To facilitate an understanding of the differences between traditional and simplified characters, a small regular script column for traditional characters is provided for reference. The single characters selected for this copybook are arranged by the number of strokes: those with fewer strokes come first, and those with more strokes come later. Characters with the same number of strokes are arranged in order of stroke sequence.
