11-year-old girl, 135 cm tall, genetic dwarfism, can take growth hormone

Patient's question:

At the age of 9 and a half, the left breast began to develop, accompanied by pain, and there was a small amount of vaginal discharge. At the age of 10 and one month, she visited a doctor. The bone age was around 10 years old. An ultrasound showed a normal uterus, and growth hormone levels were normal. She took three months of Da Bu Yin Wan and Lai An Muslin Vitamin B12 oral liquid, followed by a hospital review. Her height increased by 0.5 centimeters.
After another three months of Da Bu Yin Wan, Lai An Muslin Vitamin B12 oral liquid, and Gan Cao Zinc, a hospital review showed another 0.5 centimeters of growth. After six months of treatment, she was already 10 years and five months old, but at this time, her right breast began to develop with pain. The bone age was still around 10 years old, and the doctor said her development was too fast, requiring another three months of Da Bu Yin Wan and Lai An Muslin Vitamin B12 oral liquid.
I decided to try traditional Chinese medicine treatment. The doctor diagnosed her as having yin deficiency, which would slow down her development. She has now taken 14 herbal medicine prescriptions and continues to take Lai An Muslin Vitamin B12 oral liquid.

Doctor's answer:

Hello! Thank you for your trust! Your child, who is 9 and a half years old, has shown signs of development, and the timing is normal. It cannot be diagnosed as precocious puberty. However, whether it is boys or girls, if development occurs before the age of 10 and the predicted adult height is not ideal, medical intervention is still recommended.
Regarding traditional Chinese medicine treatment, I do not believe it offers significant help in increasing adult height. In fact, traditional Chinese medicine is not without side effects. A recent example in the newspapers showed fatal consequences from its use. Moreover, with heavy environmental pollution, Chinese herbal medicines are also contaminated, and long-term use often leads to lead poisoning.
Predicting final height requires a precise evaluation of bone age to make an accurate estimate. Genetic height only represents the range that might be achieved under normal conditions. If growth and development are abnormal, it will not fall within this range. We also commonly see cases where parents are tall, but their children do not grow as expected, as the children may have underlying diseases affecting growth and development. If genetic height were the same as final height, then no child would need treatment. (For the calculation method of genetic height, please refer to the relevant articles on my website.)
The effectiveness of growth hormone depends on the evaluation of bone age and other related tests to provide a rough estimate.
