Features: How did the comic strip Father and Son by the renowned German cartoonist E.O. Plauen become so celebrated and popular worldwide for over half a century? The reason lies not only in the artist's exceptional artistic skills but also, more importantly, in his deep love for his only son, Christian, which was the driving force behind the creation of Father and Son. The characters of "Father" and "Son" in the comic strip are, in fact, a true reflection of the artist and his son. In December 1934, when Father and Son was first introduced to readers, the artist's innocent son was only three years old. The German magazine Scala once published a photograph of Plauen riding on his son's back as a horse, explaining that the carefree days Plauen and his son Christian spent together were fleeting but served as the primary inspiration for the comic strip. Each cleverly crafted panel sparkles with wisdom, silently pouring out the pure love of a child and the warmth of familial joy, captivating the hearts of countless readers (especially young ones). Father and Son is an immortal masterpiece by the German humorist E.O. Plauen. The lively and humorous stories in the comic strip are deeply rooted in the artist's real-life experiences, with the "Father and Son" portrayed as Plauen and his son Christian. Each panel, with its subtle brilliance, silently conveys the innocent love of a child and the tender bond of family, forever touching people's hearts. As early as the 1930s, Father and Son was introduced to China, but before this complete collection, only 150 short stories from the series had been published domestically. In 1988, with the help of the Ambassador and Consuls of the Federal Republic of Germany in China, a complete collection of Father and Son was successfully compiled in China. Over the following decade, this art book was reprinted tens of thousands of times,, and in 1994, it was even named one of the National Bestselling Books. It is particularly noteworthy that many domestic publishers have shown great interest in our version of the Father and Son collection, often happily borrowing it. For example, the Yellow River Publishing House in Shandong even completely reprinted our Father and Son collection, while the Tian Di Publishing House in Chengdu, which also borrowed many of my other art books, sold over 100,000 copies of this version in just two years. Honestly, I am truly delighted by this, as imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and these young editors are indeed genuine followers! However, our Father and Son collection is the original version, and upon closer inspection, it is undeniably different, isn't it?
