Features: For those learning calligraphy, one of the most convenient methods when transitioning from copying stone inscriptions and rubbings to calligraphic creation is to use the technique of collecting characters. In the original stone inscriptions, one can find the desired characters as they are, while also utilizing the radicals and stroke patterns from the original script to combine them, thereby creating characters that were not present in the original. In terms of content selection, it is best to start with works with relatively fewer characters, as this makes the collection process easier and also facilitates the arrangement of composition, thereby increasing one's confidence in creation. "Chinese Couplets Collection Series" is a practical collection book meticulously edited for calligraphy enthusiasts, especially beginners, based on the above two aspects. It selects over forty famous couplets from the history of Chinese literature and arranges them in order of the number of characters and difficulty level. Using classic stone inscriptions such as "Shichen Stele," "Liquanming Stele of Jiucheng Palace," "Yanqinli Stele," and "Xuanmi Tower Stele" as models for collecting characters, this series helps learners transition from copying to creation more efficiently, achieving twice the result with half the effort. This collection book has two additional features: First, it provides some basic patterns for couplets creation, which not only enriches the compositional arrangement of couplets but also allows calligraphers to experience the different feelings brought by various patterns. Second, it selects eight characters from each couplet and enlarges them, placing them on the right side of each couplet, so that learners can focus on practicing the more challenging characters before formal creation, thereby improving the success rate of their work. Our publishing house has also edited and published two other series of collection books—"Chinese Ancient Poetry Collection Series" and "Chinese Ancient Prose Collection Series." These three series are sister collections with distinct focuses, providing calligraphy enthusiasts with a step-by-step and relatively complete guide to the creation of regular script and clerical script. This book is an attempt to use computers for the compilation of collection books, and there may be imperfections. We sincerely hope that readers will kindly offer their advice so that we can improve our work.
