Features: Since the publication of this classic work, a large number of component-based software technologies have emerged. The appearance of EJB, J2EE, CORBA3, COM+, and .NET are strong evidence of the maturing market for component-based software that goes beyond object-oriented programming. This book objectively describes the market prospects of components; provides a unique perspective on market dynamics that influence system deployment; and reveals in-depth practical issues and solutions. It will help software developers, system architects, CTOs, and system integrators understand the technical challenges and market dynamics of component-based software. The book comprehensively introduces the issues involved in software component technology. The author uses the relationship between components and the market as an entry point, gradually moving on to discuss fundamental concepts and knowledge such as components, interfaces, objects, patterns, frameworks, and architecture. The book combines solutions from OMG, Sun, and Microsoft to introduce component models and component platforms. Building on this foundation, it discusses component architecture, as well as issues related to the development process, such as component publishing, acquisition, and assembly. Finally, the book briefly introduces the market prospects of component-based software technology. The book is broad in scope, rich in content, concise in language, and analyzes and forecasts from various perspectives, making it an excellent reference book on software technology. It is suitable for software developers, system architects, CTOs, and system integrators engaged in software design and development.
