The third edition of this book introduces new knowledge and a large number of related issues in PMR practice. All chapters have been updated, and 19 new chapters have been added. We especially draw the attention of universities to the following chapters: injection techniques, primary healthcare for people with disabilities, health issues for women with disabilities, alternative medicine, postoperative rehabilitation for total hip and knee replacement, and vestibular rehabilitation. This textbook is organized into four parts: (1) Overview and Principles of Assessment and Diagnosis (19 chapters); (2) Treatment Methods (16 chapters); (3) Major Rehabilitation Issues (12 chapters); (4) Rehabilitation for Specific Diseases (24 chapters). When writing this book, we emphasized the scientific foundation of our profession while striving to make the information more aligned with clinical needs. Each chapter is written by multiple authors, selected from a group of experts in the field. As a result, the book features contributions from 169 authors, representing all aspects of rehabilitation medicine worldwide. To cover the breadth of this profession, we have also added chapters on rehabilitation for individuals with visual and auditory impairments, primary healthcare for people with disabilities, and an overview of international rehabilitation. We hope readers will benefit from the comprehensive and modern knowledge in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation provided by the unwavering efforts of all our authors.
