Features: This volume is primarily compiled from the manuscript drafts of Han embroidery patterns drawn by Mr. Ren Benrong and the Su embroidery drafts drawn by Mr. Liu Bingyuan. Renowned in the Three Chu Regions, Han embroidery is mainly expressed through flat gold embroidery and interwoven stitching. It is celebrated for its magnificent, colorful, and gold-and-jade brilliance, yet retains a robust and rustic charm. Its distinctive embroidered garments, ( should be translated as theatrical costumes), Taoist robes, and divine canopies differ in stitching techniques and pattern designs from Su and Ting embroidery. Especially in the depictions of auspicious and prosperous motifs like dragons, phoenixes, and mythical creatures, the composition is bold, imaginative, exaggeratedly transformed, and exudes a lively and adorable charm, full of delightful interest. Su embroidery, on the other hand, is renowned for its elegant patterns and refined style. The images are detailed and vivid, primarily used in the design of clothing, cushions, pillowcases, and screen panels. Canton embroidery features a wide variety of categories, with flowers and birds often rendered in a realistic style. Particularly on sleeves and skirt fronts, the style is exquisite, with distinct textures.
