Features: China's current output of engineering plastics is relatively low, with most needing to be imported, which poses a severe challenge to the development and production of engineering plastics in China. Accelerating the development of engineering plastics is a crucial task for those engaged in research, production, and processing of engineering plastics. Based on this consideration, we referred to relevant domestic and international materials and combined our practical work experience to compile this manual, hoping to make a modest contribution to the development of engineering plastics in China. The book is divided into three parts: Part I General Introduction, Part II General Engineering Plastics, and Part III Special Engineering Plastics. Part I introduces the brief history of engineering plastics, development trends in technology, performance characteristics and testing methods, forming and processing, and application areas. Part II covers general engineering plastic varieties such as ABS resin, polyamide, polycarbonate resin, polyoxymethylene and modified polyoxymethylene, polyphenylene ether and modified polyphenylene ether, thermoplastic polyester, and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. Part III introduces special engineering plastic varieties such as polysulfone resin, polyimide, polyphenylene sulfide and modified polyphenylene sulfide, polyaromatic ester and modified polyaromatic ester, polyphenyl ether and modified polyphenyl ether, polyaromatic ether ketone, liquid crystal polymer, and fluoroplastic. The book includes over 900 illustrations, with more than 100 being actual photographs of engineering plastic applications.
