The Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Construction, in conjunction with relevant departments, have revised certain parts of the National Standards such as the Fire Protection Design Code for Building Construction, the Fire Protection Design Code for High-rise Civil Building Construction, the Fire Protection Design Code for Civil Air Defense Engineering Design, and the Fire Protection Design Code for Internal Building Decoration. After review and approval, these revisions were respectively published as No. 27, 28, 29, and 30 of the Announcement on Local Revisions of Construction Engineering Standards by the Ministry of Construction, and they came into effect on May 1, 2001.
Additionally, the Design Code for Automatic Sprinkler Fire Protection Systems, revised jointly by the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Construction, and relevant departments, was reviewed and approved as a National Standard, coming into effect on July 1, 2001.
To facilitate the application of ongoing public gathering place fire safety special rectification campaigns across the country, as well as to assist building fire protection design, construction, management, and other technical personnel in properly understanding and implementing the standards, we have organized several experts and practicing professionals in the fields of building and fire protection systems to write this book.
